Well, in case you didn't know already, the bar scene when Melanie Carmichael (Smooter) goes back to Alabama to finalize her divorce in Sweet Home Alabama, or the scene at the end of the movie where she tells everyone to hang around, she's going to find her a Groom and everyone meets back at Stella's Roadhouse. This is it; "Stella's Roadhouse" is actually Heavy's Bar-B-Que located in Crawfordville, Georgia. The pool tables and bar where specially made for the scene. Inside you can see several pictures of the movies cast alone with the previous owner who the restaurant was named after. The town of Pigeon Creek in the movie, it's the little town of Crawfordville, Georgia where at least 14 movies have been filmed, Get Low (Robert Duvall), Coward of the County (Kenny Rogers), Carolina Skeletons (Louis Gossett Jr.), Sweet Home Alabama (Reese Witherspoon), just to name a few you may have seen. |

Mr. Grant was a native of North Carolina and was the retired owner of Heavy's Barbecue Restaurant in Crawfordville. He was the son of the late William F. Grant and Lula Ward Grant and was a veteran of the United States Armed Forces. He was a member of the Margaret's Grove Baptist Church where he was a deacon. |
